Obninsk diary plant was founded in 1982 with the aim to provide the city and its suburbs with diary products.

The plant was a small enterprise with the productive capacity equal to 100 ton of milk per day. The raw material was supplied by other milk plants, processed, and the production was shipped according to multiple purchase order.

The range of output products includes milk, kefir, cream in glass bottles, sour cream, curds in flasks.

The plant was one of a great number of similar ones scattered around the USSR.

In the time of economic changes which broke out in 90s the governing body of the enterprise made a decision to privatize it. So in 1993 the joint-stock company Obninsk diary plant appeared. This year was the starting one in production development, product market entry and development, the search of raw material suppliers.

In a short time without any suspension of production a complete overhaul was undertaken, made milk supply contracts with farms. The production of the plant has become popular and well-known far beyond the bounds of the city.

Nowadays the productive capacity of the plant is 250 ton of milk per day, and the range of products output is more than 30 items.

The production of the plant has a registered trade mark "Dve kapli moloka" ("Two drops of milk") and is produced under the brand "Made by nature itself".

Obninsk diary plant is a steadfast developing enterprise with longstanding national traditions of production of high-quality products.

Since July 2005 Obninsk diary plant is a member of production-trade group "Wimm-Bill-Dann".

Nowadays the plant produces 30 items of milk products in the following directions:

Milk products according to traditional national Russian technologies;
Bioproducts — products of new generation enriched by bifidocultures
treatment-and- prevention nutrition
yoghurts according to Russian technologies
milk drinks.

The production is put out under the brand "Made by nature itself", it is on the list of the best products of Russia and was awarded at international, all-Russia and regional exhibitions including the following:

the certificate of the Russian Federation "The leader of Russian economy"
a diploma "A Russian enterprise of high social culture"
a "Russian national Olympus " prize
a diploma "For major achievements in socio-economic sphere of Russia".
