First day of Symposium work

15 May, session 1 and session 2

May 15th became really fruitful and successful working day in the work of IDF International Dairy Symposium "Lactose and its derivatives". The first part of the day was marked by the work of the section "Lactose and its properties", during which representatives of Denmark, Canada, New Zeland, Australia and Russia made 7 reports.

After lunch the participants of the symposium continued sharing their experience during the section "Technologies and products".

During the break between two sections NCSTU PR Department representatives talked to the participants of the scientific forum. Further you may find some comments.

Co-Chairman of Organizing and Program Committee Prof. V.D. Kharitonov:

— Technical progress in dairy industry of different countries is impossible without the events which gather all the elite of dairy science. The International Dairy symposium is one of these events, and it gives new impuls to the development of the scientific cooperation worldwide. I hope that scientific innovations exchange will lead to numerous joint projects.


Director of Stavropol Diary Plant Sergey Anisimov:

— We are interested in the latest tendances of studying milk sugar. Nowadays scientists pay much attention to researches of lactose and lactulose which have long-standing influence on human health. For a long time we have been having successful collaboration with the reperesantatives of Milk technology department NCSTU, we implement their developments in the production of milk products. That is why the topic of this symposium lies in the sphere of our interest.


Representative of Diary industry, India, Harvander Oberoi:

— We have a diary plant in India, not far from Delhi. There we process up to two million litres of milk daily. That is why first and foremost we are interested in in the technology of lactose usage in milk products. I would like to thank the heads of the symposium for the organization of the event at such a high international level.
